Recently Clackamas Fire District #1 visited Oregon City High School to train staff members on how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Over 100 staff members attended the training. Student safety is a high priority at the high school as approximately 2300 staff and students are on campus daily. Having quick access to the AED’s and training on utilization of this valuable resource is very important.
Oregon City High School has five AEDs; three located in the building, one at the baseball field, and one at the football stadium. Beyond technical training, staff engaged in re-enacting scenarios that could occur within the building that would require the use of the AED. The training of the staff improves an already strong commitment to preparedness and safety at the high school.
