Can Teaching Kindness Help Protect Children From Sexual Abuse? Yes It Can!

As parents, we want our children to learn to be kind, but also safe, strong and capable of handling any challenge the world presents. Join Liliana Will & Sara Taggart, educators from Children’s Center - Clackamas County’s child abuse intervention center – to explore how conversations about kindness can also be opportunities to teach children some of the tools they need to be protected from experiencing the trauma of sexual abuse. Using Darkness to Light’s nationally-recognized prevention materials, this workshop will offer you new ideas and practical tips for how to talk with your children about safety from child sexual abuse in ways that can be adapted to different family values and cultures.
