New Administrative Announcements

Rebekah Beck
Principal, Redland Elementary School

Ms. Beck is returning to Oregon City School District from The Dalles Middle School where she served as vice principal. She is a former Gardiner Middle School teacher. Ms. Beck is an experienced educator with teaching credentials for mathematics, science and elementary education in Oregon and Washington. Ms. Beck completed her bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in curriculum development and instruction from Eastern Washington University. She also completed the educational leadership and administration license program at University of Oregon. Her skills and enthusiasm will be a great match for the Redland Elementary School community.


Josh Bryan
Interim Principal, Oregon City Service Learning Academy

Mr. Bryan brings experience and a comprehensive understanding of OCSLA to this position based on his five years as a teacher at the school. He has been a part of the leadership team and an integral part of the staff for years. He graduated from Oregon State University with Bachelor's degrees in both Education and History; earned a Masters Degree in History at Portland State University; and earned his Administrative License at George Fox University. We are confident in his skill set and will be providing ongoing support to him and the building throughout the school year.  
Rachel Engstrom
Vice Principal, Gardiner Middle School

Ms. Engstrom is a veteran classroom teacher and middle school leader in the Oregon City School District. She began her teaching career in 1997, and has maintained a focus on early adolescence and middle school level education. Ms. Engstrom has served in multiple teacher-leader roles, including as an AVID coordinator. In 2014, she completed the rigorous process to earn certification from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. She earned her bachelor's degree in art history from Loyola Marymount University and her master's degree from George Fox University. She also completed the Education Leadership and Policy Program at Portland State University. Her middle school experience, along with proven track record of leadership, will be a great resource for Gardiner students and families.

Candice Henkin 
Principal, John McLoughlin Elementary School 

Ms. Henkin is returning to the Oregon City School District from the Reynolds School District where she served as principal at Wilkes Elementary School. She is an accomplished teacher, specialist and administrator who previously worked at Mt. Pleasant, King and Holcomb Elementary Schools. She earned her bachelor's degree in human development from Warner Pacific College and her master's degree in special education from Portland State University. She also completed the Education Leadership and Policy Program at Portland State University. Her deep commitment to community building and instruction will be an asset to students and families at McLoughlin Elementary.
