Website and Social Media Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor degree in computer science, journalism, and/or experience.
2. Familiar with web-based content management systems (Drupal experience preferred)
3. Experience using Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr.
4. Experience with creating and managing digital signage systems.
5. Experience with video editing and asset management using online storage and delivery systems.
6. Working knowledge of Graphic Design Applications: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat.
7. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, publishing software.
8. High technical understanding and can learn to use new tools quickly.
9. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives along with knowledge of high school procedures.
10. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
11. Excellent interpersonal skills
12. Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
13. Highly self-motivated and directed.

JOB GOAL:
To coordinate the planning, maintenance, and accessibility of website content to ensure the consistency look and feel of the website. This includes ensuring that the layout, positioning, navigation, and content are consistent across and throughout the organization. This position will perform day to day administration of the organization’s web assets. The role of Social Media Specialist is to manage school communication to provide news about the high school and it’s activities to both the internal and external audiences.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Administer everyday operations and manage functionality of school website.
2. Coordinate with various departments to gather the most useful and up-to-date information.
3. Increase usability and functionality of website.
4. Plan, develop, test, edit, and maintain documents.
5. Control content, look, and flow of website.
6. Serve as managing editor for website.
7. Web content includes text and embedded graphics, photos, video.
8. Design and edit graphical content using Adobe Photoshop.
9. Update school calendar.
10. Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities.
11. Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and other similar community sites.
12. Manage Flickr photo account. Acquire and share additional photos of the high school.
13. Ensure required documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately; participate in creation where necessary.
14. Provide excellent customer service.
15. Provide support, training and service to users of the district’s web services and applications. Keep current with emerging web and social media technologies.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Range 12 , 192 days
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the immediate supervisor in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
