Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. SLPA Certification from Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
3. Must have excellent organizational skills.
4. Must be able to take directions from a variety of team members.
5. Must have excellent communication skills.
6. Must have experience with children in an educational setting.
7. Must be competent with computer-based word processing and database programs.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Special Services
SUPERVISES:
None
JOB GOAL:
To provide direct support to speech-language pathologists in the school settings.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist licensed speech-language pathologists with preparation of therapy materials.
2. Assist with maintenance of special education due process files for individual students.
3. Assist with facilitation of communication group therapy activities with small groups of children.
4. Assist with coordination of Early Childhood to school-age special education transition.
5. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
6. Other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the classified collective bargaining agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Special Services in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
