Technical Director of Performing Arts Department
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of methods and techniques of theatrical scenery design, construction, painting and rigging, lighting and sound design and implementation.
2. Knowledge of materials and tools used in theatrical scenery construction, painting and rigging, lighting and sound installations..
3. Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of power tools, rigging equipment, lighting and sound equipment.
4. Ability to work well in team situations.
5. Ability to work well with students.
REPORTS TO:
Building Principal, Drama Director, Band Director and Choir Director
SUPERVISES:
Technical Theatre students and student crew members for performances.
JOB GOAL:
To work cooperatively with the OCHS Drama Director, OCHS Band Director, and OCHS Choir Director to provide high school level plays and concerts with high quality technical support.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design, build, paint and install scenery for OCHS Drama productions.
2. Design and install lighting and sound for OCHS Performing Arts Department productions.
3. Order and maintain materials, supplies and equipment for the OCHS Performing Arts Department.
4. Oversee maintenance and proper use of all rigging, tools, lighting and sound equipment for OCHS Performing Arts Department.
5. Supervise students and assist in the instruction of the Technical Theatre class.
6. Supervise students in crew positions at OCHS Performing Arts Department events.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education..
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Principal in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
