Technology Helpdesk Technician
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge of English, and ability to communicate effectively using district communication tools.
2. Ability to coordinate repair and maintenance of equipment with district technology specialists and other support staff.
3. Must be able to conduct basic troubleshooting procedures at the desktop level over the phone, email, or website.
4. Able to work closely with the District Technology Team and building technology coordinators.
5. Reasonable knowledge of District procedures related to purchasing and inventory.
6. Must be able to lift, transport, or carry weights up to 72 pounds and possess a valid driver’s license.
7. Participate in professional development activities to maintain technology skills appropriate to the job.
8. Must be able to perform technical duties as required by the position.
9. Associate’s degree or equivalent and information technology background highly desirable.
10. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.

SUPERVISES:
None.
JOB GOAL:
The Technology Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for fielding all technology support requests via telephone, email, or helpdesk website. The Helpdesk Technician will also perform duties such as assisting with receiving incoming deliveries, inventory, and diagnosing and repairing hardware and software problems. Must possess skills of organization, communication, and ability to prioritize and escalate as necessary.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Work effectively with the District Technology Supervisor, other district technology support staff, building staff and students.
2. Screen and resolve technical support requests over the phone, email or web helpdesk by performing basic troubleshooting procedures.
3. Participate in professional development activities to maintain technology skills appropriate to the job.
4. District-wide, provide first-level support for staff and students.
5. District-wide, assisting Tech II staff with resolving technology related issues.
6. District-wide, will receive and inventory incoming technology shipments.
7. Assist with repair and diagnosis of equipment and software.
8. Attend appropriate technology meetings.
9. Perform other district-related duties as required or directed by the District Technology Coordinator.
10. Other related tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the District Technology Coordinator in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
