Meet the New Athletic Director: Trinity Gibbons
Oregon City School District is pleased to announce they have selected Trinity Gibbons as their new Athletic Director. Trinity Gibbons comes from a diverse background of athletics and brings a unique perspective to OCSD. For the last year she has served as the Assistant Athletic Director for the University of Oregon, and was the Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs at Portland State University before that. She earned her Masters of Education in Sport Management from the University of Texas and served as their athletic’s Marketing and Communications Assistant Supervisor as well. She is also an Oregon native and an athlete herself.
She brings a strong student-centric philosophy that resonated with many on the interview teams and echoes the heart of Oregon City School District’s current, and future, mission, vision, and values. “I believe in the transformational power of education to my very core,” Trinity remarks. “My philosophy is to build student centered, coach led, administrator supported programs that assist students in earning their diploma and building skills that change or accelerate the trajectory of their life.”
The selection process included two group interviews with 30 staff, students, and community members to ensure the voice and needs of the OCSD community were being heard and met. Their questions and insight allowed for deep reference checks and conversations. This allowed for our leaders to choose, with confidence, the right person for the position.
Trinity is currently starting the process of transitioning into her new role with the help of their interim Athletic Director, Cyndi Borgmeier. She will also be intermittently involved in OCSD’s activities this spring and with the hiring of coaches as well.
