Positive Behavior Interventions Supports (PBIS) Coordinator


qualifications:

● Bachelors degree.

● Valid Oregon teaching license appropriate to the assignment.

● Minimum of five (5) years successful teaching, with experience teaching English language learners and students experiencing disabilities.

● Knowledge of research related to positive behavioral interventions and supports at all three tiers: universal, secondary and tertiary.

● Experience planning and conducting professional development / training.

● Ability to work collaboratively with various groups and gain consensus related to project implementation and other problem solving.

● Experience in data-based decision making.

● Demonstrated leadership and project organizational skills

(planning, implementing, evaluation).

● Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

● Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with individuals, teams, and groups (teachers, parents, administrators and support staff).

job goal:

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the PBIS Coordinator will be responsible for the overall management of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program including providing training and technical assistance to school teams and PBIS Chairs to maintain and develop district-wide PBIS systems.

performance responsibilities:

● Provide training and technical assistance to school teams to maintain and develop systems of school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.

● Facilitate sustainability and expansion of PBIS practices district-wide.

● Provide and/or facilitate quality training at all three tiers of PBIS: universal, secondary and tertiary.

● Oversee district level data collection, management and analysis.

● Train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to staff who use school-wide data collection systems (Synergy MTSS Module, PBIS Assessments).

● Train and provide ongoing technical and data analysis support to staff who use secondary tier data collection systems (Synergy CICO).

● Collect and monitor school and district databases to track and analyze student behavioral data including office discipline referrals, suspensions, team implementation, coach assessment of schoolwide implementation, and climate survey patterns.

● Develop collaboration with multiple district departments and initiatives including Teaching & Learning, Student Services, Synergy, and Equity in Discipline Committee (EISD).

● Participate in regional, statewide and national PBIS leadership conferences and meetings.

● Ongoing coaching of school-based PBIS teams.

● Assist school teams in developing, implementing and evaluating action plans using a variety of data sources.

● Review school and District-wide data to inform and guide PBIS decision-making related to implementation outcomes.

● Serve as a resource and support to school teams in planning supports for students with behavior challenges.

terms of employment:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the administrator in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
