Early Childhood Education Coordinator
Position Description:
The individual selected for this position will coordinate and develop programming for children of all ages prior to entering kindergarten under the guidance of the Oregon City Community Education Supervisor. The ECE Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the budget, enrollment, staffing, and programming.
Qualifications:
● Bachelors or Associates Degree preferred.
● Minimum of 2 years experience working with children in an educational and recreational setting.
● Experience in youth development, curriculum instruction, or related fields.
● Prior leadership experience overseeing staff.
● Spanish bilingual candidates preferred.
● Must hold a current Food Handler’s card and be Infant- Adult CPR/First Aid Certified
● Must have excellent attendance.

Supervises:
Early childhood education staff
Specific Job Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with supervisor to develop, coordinate, and implement early childhood educational programming and child care programs.
● Manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to completion in a timely manner.
● Forecast and maintain program costs within a specified budget.
● Respond to staffing needs: substitute, recognize and provide coaching to new and/or to underperforming staff, observe and report staff concerns to supervisor.
● Evaluate staff performance and provide feedback on a regular basis.
● Locate and schedule appropriate outside programming and field trip opportunities for youth.
● Market program through individually created flyers, website updates and by attending elementary school parent nights, etc.
● Build relationships with community partners.
● Coordinate substitutes, manage roster discrepancies, and other required daily communication with staff and parents.
● Work with Supervisor to provide staff professional development, training, and evaluations to improve staff performance.
● Ensure that programs are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate, and follow Oregon City School District policies, procedures, and mission.
