Instructional Assistant - Certified Occupational Therapy


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associate degree in O.T.A.

2. Experience in serving school-age clients preferred.

3. Ability to communicate with students, staff, and the public, using tact and discretion.

4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Special Services

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

To implement therapy programs for students under the direction of a licensed occupational therapist.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provides motor development services to students under the supervision of an occupational therapist.

2. Reviews each student's service plan with the occupational therapist prior to implementation.

3. Schedules and provides regular services to each identified student.

4. Maintains a daily log of services and student performance for evaluation of plan and adjustments.

5. Completes written reports on each student assigned.

6. Performs other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Based on school calendar, position and assignment as determined by District needs. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Special Services in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
