Position Summary:
Nutrition Services Driver is responsible for delivery of food, supplies, equipment, and all other materials associated with the district meals program.
Essential Functions:
1. Load and secure food and supplies into truck.
2. In a safe and timely manner, deliver food and supplies to assigned schools.
3. Retrieve all equipment and other assorted items from individual school cafeterias.
4. Maintain truck in a safe and sanitary manner.
5. Understand and comply with all policies and procedures the Nutrition Services Department outlines.
6. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
7. Perform other related duties as needed and designated by Nutrition Services Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Ability to exercise some independent judgment while adhering to prescribed policies and procedures and perform the essential functions of the position with minimal supervision.
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships and work in partnership with supervisors, other staff, students, and the general public.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
4. Ability to follow district policies and procedures at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Food Handler’s Card.
3. Current Oregon Drivers License
4. Successful completion of criminal history records check, as required by law.
5. Must demonstrate the strength and stamina sufficient to maintain a rigorous work schedule requiring continuous and heavy physical exertion including repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs, and pulling up to 250 lbs.
6. Must tolerate working in close quarters.
7. Must be able to multi-task, organize, and prioritize to ensure maximum efficiency.
8. Must demonstrate the ability to understand written and verbal instructions clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Paid or volunteer experience in the food serving industry and/or experience operating and driving a box truck with a lift.
2. Bilingual in Spanish or other high need language as designated by the District.
