Speech/Language Pathologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master's degree in speech pathology.
2. Valid Oregon license appropriate for speech/language pathology.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES:
None
JOB GOAL:
Provide service to speech, language and/or hearing impaired children.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To provide District language and speech screening for all incoming first graders and others upon request from parents, teachers, staff members, or students.
2. To diagnose language, speech, and/or hearing disorders.
3. To provide a thorough assessment of each child's speech, language, and/or hearing problem.
4. To recommend to parents the referring of children to specialists/agencies for diagnosis and treatment of speech-language, and/or hearing problems beyond the scope of the school program.
5. To plan an Individualized Education Program (IEP) with parents and other school personnel when appropriate.
6. To implement the child's Individualized Education Program.
7. To maintain case records and information on all children served in the program.
8. To report children's progress to parents, teachers, and principals when deemed beneficial to the child's progress.
9. To complete annual review form with parent as required by PL 101-476.
10. To maintain a smooth professional working relationship with individuals in related professions whenever possible.
11. To assume major responsibility for the organization and operation of the program.
12. To evaluate the program and determine where changes should be made.
13. To order and maintain equipment, supplies, and materials for the programs.
14. To provide leadership by assuming an active role in public relations, communication to groups and agencies, membership in state speech and hearing professional organizations and continued education and training.
15. Perform other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established in accordance with the Certified Agreement.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the certified agreement.
