Position Summary:
The Community Education Supervisor is responsible for organizing Oregon City School District’s Community Education programs and fostering a positive, safe environment that is conducive to meeting the needs of all students, staff, and families. This includes maintaining equitable and engaging learning opportunities through building learning and experiential opportunities with students and families, scheduling classes and activities, and effecting collaborative and community-based guidance and leadership of staff and students. This position also works collaboratively with school leaders to connect resources and assist in the creation and implementation of school-based activities.
Essential Functions:
Community Education Programming
1. Coordinate all activities related to the Community Education program including, but not limited to: Childcare, the Early Childhood Program, the youth sports program, after school enrichment programs, and adult community education. Lead innovations in instructional practices and programming for improved student outcomes, aligned with District vision and goals.
2. Assist in the promotion of positive program climate through oversight of the positive behavioral supports, interventions, and restorative practices. Develop innovative strategies, preventative approaches, and proactive plans for students to experience success in all programs.
3. Assume responsibility for implementing discipline procedures as stated in the District Code of Conduct as applicable to participating students. Manage student discipline incidents by providing family contact, restorative practices, progressive discipline, classroom coaching, data collection, and intervention.
4. Engage family and community groups in decision-making and program activities. Facilitate activities that build the capacity of families and community to support student and adult learning.
5. Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with community leaders in the local area. Through these relationships, create and extend offerings and supports for students, parents, and community partners.
Program Personnel
1. Supervise and evaluate classified staff and coordinators assigned to Community Education programs.
2. Provide resources, training, and assistance to program staff.
3. Support program coordinators when communicating with principals regarding student behavior and discipline.
4. Coordinate and implement district training for volunteers; ensure compliance with volunteer expectations for health and safety.
Program Management
1. Coordinate all activities related to assigned programs with other program staff, building administrators, and department supervisors.
2. Develop, implement, and evaluate program procedures, systems, and plans.
3. Maintain complete and accurate records of attendance, staff, and scheduling of the local and area-wide Community Education programs.
4. Assume major responsibility with regard to school emergencies and safety by implementing safety drills, procedures and planning.
5. Participate in program scheduling, planning and evaluation of curriculum, supervising and improving instruction, accounting, and budgets in accordance with district policies and procedures.
6. Exercise leadership and supervision of other program functions and activities as assigned by the Associate Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness.

1. Ability to exercise independent judgment while adhering to prescribed policies and procedures to perform the essential functions of the position with minimal supervision.

3. Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

5. Ability to demonstrate professionalism in dress, speech and manner appropriate to the assignment and work setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Successful completion of criminal history records check, as required by law.
2. Bachelor’s degree in education.
3. Minimum of five years successful teaching, leading, or administrative experience in public education.
4. Commitment to equitable and inclusive practices for all students, especially communities and students who are historically stigmatized and marginalized.
5. Dedication to continued personal and professional learning and growth towards staff and community in congruence with the district equity policy.
6. Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills, including giving and receiving constructive feedback.
7. Successful experience in using program and student-level data to guide decisions.
8. Experience and expertise in restorative justice, anti-bias, and equitable practices towards school/program discipline.
9. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Oregon City is seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to support our diverse community.
2. Bilingual Spanish/English.
3. Master’s degree or higher in education.
4. Valid Oregon administrative certificate.
5. Successful experience building and supporting community partnerships.
