Maintenance Supervisor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION:
The Maintenance Supervisor ensures that the district facilities and maintenance goals are met; services are provided in an efficient and effective manner, ensures that staff utilize appropriate procedures and safe practices. Ensures that tasks are completed efficiently and within regulatory guidelines while meeting project deadlines by utilization of personal and other resources. This will include prioritizing, scheduling, assigning and inspecting daily work, training, evaluating the performance of assigned staff, and managing budgets, personnel and scheduling for both maintenance and custodial staff across the district.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic planning for the department needs in alignment with the annual budgeting
Aligns with the district’s Safety & Risk Management Coordinator to ensure we are in compliance with all state and federal safety regulation, Oregon Department of Education regulations and board policies
Communicate with school and department administrators in order to strengthen the effectiveness of the district facilities
Serves as a liaison between the district and various contractors and vendors performing services for the district
IPM Coordinator is the key advisor to the district and is responsible for the development and management of the IPM Plan for pest control. Oversee training on pesticide safety for our school staff, records management, and providing guidance and recommendations.
Assists with the planning and oversight of bidding processes do district facility projects
Oversee the efficient completion of facilities work orders utilizing the district software in the manner that prioritizes customer service.
Manages through a collaborative and reflective approach with the facilities team
Responsible for the comprehensive overall planning and scheduling of maintenance, repairs, grounds district wide
Inspects repair work, projects, equipment, work orders, daily maintenance and materials used for ensuring that jobs are completed effectively
Provides leadership, support, training and management to Facilities teams both custodial and maintenance, performs evaluation on assigned personnel
Maintain and update a proactive training program to include all areas of custodial responsibility including cleaning, maintenance, communication, customer service and safety
Building knowledge: HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, lighting, etc.
Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality
Demonstrates ability to organized time and resources to perform multiple tasks
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Minimum of 5 year supervisory experience
Bilingual preferred but not required
Valid Driver’s License
IPM Certification - ability to earn certification with 120 days
Pesticide/Herbicide License
Limited Maintenance Electrical License, preferred but not required
Building Operator Certification
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Business Manager in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation.
