Assessment Secretary


qualifications:

1. Knowledge of Windows and Windows 95 applications and experience with other microcomputer applications. Computer data entry/keyboarding skills of at least 50 wpm is required.

2. Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, arithmetic, and microcomputers.

3. Knowledge of sound, practical office practices.

4. Ability to communicate with students, staff and the public, using tact and discretion.

5. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

6. Must respect confidential information and reports.

7. High school diploma or the equivalent.

8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

The ability to perform the assigned duties and a disposition to fit into the school situation.

performance responsibilities:

1. Performs varied office functions, including clerical, secretarial, and receptionist duties. This includes transcribing dictated reports (oral, machine or handwritten), letters or other assignments given by the school psychologist, assessment coordinator, occupational therapist, and other contracted persons.

2. Receives mail, sorting and distributing to proper personnel or department.

3. Maintains referral database, schedules assessments, staffings, and parent conferences.

4. Scores tests using computer-based programs (WJR, WISC, WIAT Achenbach, Woodcock Reading, and KeyMath).

5. Receives and handles telephone calls, giving limited non-technical information to those requesting it and delivering messages to proper person.

6. Communicates with students, staff, and the public using tact and discretion.

7. Operates all office equipment in the Special Services office.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director.

terms of employment:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the collective bargaining agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building administrator in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
