District Technology Technician I
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Prefer Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
2. Prefer at least one (1) year of experience providing technical/software support for computer systems.
3. Basic knowledge trouble shooting ability for computer based technology and other computer accessories including classroom technologies.
4. Ability to analyze problems and develop solutions.
5. Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities effectively and to provide timely feedback to customers.
8. Ability to empathize with and provide excellent customer service to staff and students who are having difficulty with a technology problem.
9. Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with all staff, students, and volunteers.
10. Ability to provide email support for district staff and students.
11. Ability to adapt to constantly changing technology.
12. Ability to develop a reasonable understanding of District policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory.
13. Must possess the physical ability to occasionally life 50-70 pounds.
14. Valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for site visitations.

SUPERVISES:
None
JOB GOAL:
Support district schools/departments as assigned by the District Technology Coordinator. Provide on-site technical assistance and training to staff and students in maintaining, problem solving, and troubleshooting hardware and software related issues. The Technology Technician I will install software, operating system patches and fixes, and hardware as directed by the District Technology Coordinator.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Visit schools/departments as scheduled and provide on-site technical support to administrative, licensed and support staff as well as students as needed.
2. Perform routine preventative maintenance for technology and relatedequipment.
3. Repair and maintain computers, peripherals, printers, and other computer accessories including classroom technology utilizing appropriate repair tools, parts, and software.
4. Organize and prioritize responsibilities and/or work orders in order to provide the most efficient and timely support for each building/department as well as staff and students..
5. Analyze possible causes, aspects, and recommended solutions for technology problems and effectively communicate with building staff and/or District Technology Coordinator.
6. Work with the District Technology Coordinator and/or District Technology Technician II/III to resolve complex technology related problems.
7. Maintain an effective working relationship with the District Technology Coordinator, the Technology Department Staff, building staff, students, and adult volunteers.
8. Track and update building technology equipment inventory using appropriate tools.
9. Attend appropriate technology meetings.
10. Participate in workshops/in-services to improve technology/problem-solving skills.
11. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
12. Perform other school-district related duties and tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the District Technology Coordinator in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
