District Technology Technician III
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum Associate’s Degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum two (2) years experience providing technical/software support for computer systems and a passing score on a test administered by the District Technology Coordinator to verify depth of technical support knowledge and skills.
3. Advanced knowledge and trouble shooting ability for computer based technology and other computer accessories including classroom technologies.
4. A working knowledge of networking connectivity including hubs, switches and data closet equipment and related troubleshooting experience.
5. Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
6. Ability to comprehend and follow oral and written instructions.
7. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
8. Ability to organize and prioritize work responsibilities effectively and to provide timely feedback to customers.
9. Ability to empathize and provide excellent customer service to staff and students who are having difficulty with technology or experiencing a technology problem.
10. Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with all staff, students, and volunteers.
11. Ability to provide email system training and support for district staff and students.
12. Ability to adapt to constantly changing technology.
13. Ability to assist in the development of the District’s technology vision and service standards.
14. Reasonable knowledge of District technology policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory.
15. Must possess the physical ability to occasionally life 50-70 pounds.
16. Must possess a valid driver’s license and access to personal vehicle for site visitations.

SUPERVISES:

JOB GOAL:
Support district schools/departments as assigned by the District Technology Coordinator. Provide on-site technical assistance to maintain, problem solve, troubleshoot, and training for hardware and software related issues to staff and students. Help manage user accounts and passwords for all buildings/departments. The Technology Technician III will install software, operating system patches and fixes, and hardware as needed or as determined by the District Technology Coordinator. The Technology Technician III will assist the District Technology Coordinator in solving complex technology problems and the creation and maintenance of user accounts and passwords.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Visit schools/departments as scheduled and provide on-site technical support to administrative, licensed and support staff as well as students as needed.
2. Perform routine preventative maintenance for technology and related equipment.
3. Repair and maintain computers, peripherals, printers, and other computer accessories including classroom technology utilizing appropriate repair tools, parts, and software.
4. Determine which repairs need to be done at the district level or at Clackamas ESD, and make appropriate arrangements.
5. Organize and prioritize responsibilities and/or work orders in order to provide the most efficient and timely support for each building/department as well as staff and students..
5. Analyze possible causes, aspects, and recommended solutions for technology problems and effectively communicate with building/department as well as staff and students.
6. Assist the District Technology Technician I/II, District Network Technician and/or the District Technology Coordinator in troubleshooting complex network problems and updating network systems.
7. Assist the District Technology Coordinator in .troubleshooting and solving complex technology problems including those involving the network infrastructure.
8. Assist the District Technology Coordinator in the creation and maintenance of user accounts and passwords.
9. Evaluate and recommend software that might be appropriate for classroom use.
10. Maintain an effective working relationship with the District Technology Coordinator, the Technology Department Staff, building staff, students, and adult volunteers.
11. Track and update building technology equipment inventory using appropriate tools.
12. Attend appropriate technology meetings.
13.Participate in workshops/in-services to improve technology/problem-solving skills.
14. Demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
15.Perform other school-district related duties and tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the District Technology Coordinator in accordance with the Board’s policy on evaluation.
