qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. Ability to perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.

3. Successful experience working with parents and/or students.

4. Ability to interpret and apply school laws, policies, rules and regulations.

5. Maintain confidentiality of student information.

6. Ability to prepare district and state reports.

7. Ability to Carry out and follow oral and written directions.

8. Demonstrate integrity through ethical behavior and maintaining appropriate boundaries with students and families.

9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

job goal:

The McKinney Vento Program Secretary shall support the District McKinney Vento Liaison and eligible families. This role will be responsible for record keeping, data collection and reporting for the McKinney Vento Program. Use of independent judgement and decision making is required in matters not having established rules, regulations, or policies. Communications with students, staff, and the public require tact and discretion.

performance responsibilities:

1. General clerical and secretarial duties, typing, correspondence, printing,copying, filing, etc. including the preparation of materials, schedules, and agendas.

2. Assists in the preparation of budget documents; maintain records of requisitions and purchase orders; and orders office and school supplies.

3. Support case management of homeless students/families and communicate with district and building staff.

4. Conduct community outreach and support liaison with trainings.

5. Oversee homeless education budget.

6. Foster family liaison, and migrant family liaison

7. Data entry and keyboarding skills.

8. Maintain student, personnel, financial, statistical inventories and other responsible records including insurance accounts, lists and forms.

9. Prepares and submits corresponding reports to the central office and education agencies when requested.

10. Communicates with the public, staff and students.

11. Performs other duties as assigned.

terms of employment:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
