OCHS Attendance Secretary


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Knowledge of modern office methods, practices and procedures, business English, spelling, and arithmetic.

2. Ability to perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.

3. Ability to type 50 wpm from clean, legible copy.

4. Ability to use computer for word processing and spreadsheets.

5. Ability to carry out and give oral and written directions.

6. Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, staff members, and the general public.

7. Must respect confidential information.

8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:

Building Principal

SUPERVISES:

This position does not normally carry with it the supervision of other personnel. Employee may be asked to supervise student assistants.

JOB GOAL:

Responsible for maintaining all attendance records at the Senior Campus and performing related clerical duties.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Takes student attendance each period, grades 10-12.

2. Writes absence slips for students returning from an absence.

3. Records absences in computer.

4. Registers new students.

5. Withdraws students who are leaving.

6. Produces quarterly state report, federal reports, Early Leavers Report, and teams with administrators to track exiting students.

7. Sets phone master up each day for telephoning parents each night.

8. Telephones parents each morning for those that have requested daily attendance checks on their student.

9. Verifies attendance for CIM recipients who choose to opt out of Access Period.

10. Verifies attendance as requested by parents.

11. Changes any personal information on students as needed throughout the year.

12. Assists in verifying graduating seniors.

13. Registers and withdraws SAGE students.

14. Supervises student assistants.

15. Attends various classes/workshops through the Education Service District in order to keep up-to-date on various ESD computer applications.

16. Tracks referrals for alternative placement and coordinates data with Administration Office.

17. Performs other related duties as directed.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Building Principal in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
