Case Manager


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree

2. Valid Oregon license with appropriate endorsement (Handicapped Learner).

3. Ability in consultation and educational planning.

4. Three years of experience in providing academic and behavioral interventions with special education students.

5. Commitment to concepts of supported education in Least Restrictive Environment.

6. Must have good communication skills, written and oral.

7. Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to motivate and activate staff and parents.

8. Must have good organizational and time management skills.

9. Must be able to work independently, as well as participate in team-based programming.

Director of Special Services

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

To support building staff in providing the educational needs for identified students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate with building BES Teams in the educational planning for identified students.

2. For students on assigned caseload, will coordinate IEP development in accordance with federal, state and district requirements.

3. Provide direct support to general education and resource center staff in the implementation of appropriate strategies and in monitoring and adjusting the program to accommodate the changing needs of each student.

4. Facilitate and coordinate appropriate resources and related services as available.

5. Attend coordinator meetings as scheduled to monitor District needs.

6. Provide a variety of supports to building through modeling, curriculum modification training, planning, and consultation.

7. Utilize skills in academic programming of developmentally appropriate interventions, targeting regular educational curriculum as much as possible.

8. Provide technical assistance in modifying curriculum and materials to meet individual student needs.

9. Provide in-service and staff development activities in supported education.

10. Assist in Childfind and in communication with staff, parents, and community.

11. Performs other tasks as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Salary and work year to be established in accordance with the certified collective bargaining agreement.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the certified agreement.
