Occupational Therapist
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Licensed in occupational therapy.
2. Experience in serving school-age clients preferred.
3. Ability to communicate with students, staff and the public, using tact and discretion.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Special Services
SUPERVISES:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
JOB GOAL:
To assess, identify eligible students, and develop and implement therapy programs for motor development.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform or supervise the performance of assistants in meeting the motor development needs of resident students.
2. Participate on the District assessment team.
3. Schedule and complete student assessments.
4. Develop therapy plans for eligible students.
5. Supervise assigned COTA in serving students.
6. Complete written assessment reports and maintain records of program services for annual report.
7. Communicate with student’s doctor to assure legal compliance of service plans.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Director of Special Services in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
