School Psychologist
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Masters degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
2. Valid Oregon School Psychologist certificate.
3. Minimum of three years of successful teaching, counseling, or school psychology experience.
4. Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and the ability to perform competently in a team environment.
5. Prefer experience working with structured support or intervention programs.
6. Any other duties the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

SUPERVISES:
None
JOB GOAL:
Provide support to elementary and secondary schools through consultation, evaluation, and direct service; focusing on academically and behaviorally at-risk and special needs students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Consult with building multidisciplinary team in assigned buildings.
2. Conduct comprehensive individual assessments which may include evaluation in the following areas: General mental ability, learning style, academic achievement, social/emotional/behavioral, adaptive behavior/developmental.
3. Report findings of such assessments and recommend programs based on evaluation and recommend appropriate interventions.
4. Consult with school staff regarding best practice in functional behavior analysis and behavior planning..
5. Provide consultation to building personnel regarding development and implementation of IEP’s.
6. Work with other district staff to provide staff development activities in the following areas:
Functional behavioral analysis and behavior support plans
IEP writing for building specialists and counselors
Roles and responsibilities for special education instructional assistants and transportation personnel
7. Effectively communicate with parents and advocates regarding evaluation results and recommendations.
8. Collaborate with other service providers including state or county agencies, physicians, mental health therapists and juvenile law enforcement.
9. Perform other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and work year to be established in accordance with the Certified Agreement.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Certified Agreement.
