TOSA: District Technology


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Oregon teaching license with an Integrated Technology endorsement.

2. Experience in assisting staff with technology tools such as computers, cameras, projection systems and interactive white boards to facilitate instruction.

3. Ability to develop in-service trainings appropriate for building staff.

4. Must have technical expertise and an understanding of the integration of technology into the classroom.

5. Experience working with small and large groups of both students and adults as a trainer in the field of technology.

6. Knowledge of computer software used in the District for student instruction.

7. Knowledge of internet tools and how they can be used in schools.

8. Ability to organize work responsibilities effectively and to provide timely feedback to people who request assistance.

9. Ability to develop and maintain an effective working relationship with other members of the technology team, staff, and students.

10. Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science computer science or technology education is preferred.

11. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Director of Operations or other designee.

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

This individual will work with the District Technology Coordinator (DTC) to increase the district staff’s technology expertise in order that technology integration will occur for the benefit of the students. The TOSA will also contribute to the total school planning in areas of budgeting, curriculum and evaluating programs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works with the District Technology Coordinator, district technology support staff, and building technology coordinators

2. Manages and distributes technology accessory tools such as cameras and projection systems to facilitate instruction.

3. Develops, with the help of the district technology support staff and building staff, in-services appropriate for building staff.

4. Works with the District Technology Coordinator regarding the instructional/in- service needs of the teaching staff.

5. Gives input regarding the makeup of the district web page so that it will better provide resources for instruction. The specialist will also provide support for people who want to publish on-line.

6. Provides building-level inservices related to integrating technology into the classroom.

7. Researches and prepares materials to support inservices as well as instruction in the classroom.

8. Provides small group or one-on-one support when appropriate.

9. Participates in professional development activities to keep current on technology developments.

10. Attends relevant meetings in the district, Clackamas ESD, and at the state and regional level.

11. Creates materials for teaching others how to use the technology tools provided.

12. Performs other school district related duties as required or directed by supervisor.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the collective bargaining agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the District Technology Coordinator, or designee, in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
