CAIS Principal


REPORTS TO:

Superintendent

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

The high school principal is responsible for implementing and managing the district and school policies, regulations, and procedures to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe learning environment that meets and exceeds the State Core Curriculum Content Standards, following the approved curriculum and directives of the school. The principal works collaboratively with CAIS Board, industry partners and Clackamas Community College to develop a curriculum and program to prepare students for STEM careers. The principal is responsible for planning and overseeing curriculum, program evaluation, partnerships, personnel management, financial management, resource scheduling, and facilities operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

● A current Oregon Administrator license

● Skills to appropriately manage personnel and programs, communicate effectively, and problem solve

● Serves as chief executive officer of the CAIS Board except as otherwise provided by law; makes rules not in conflict with law or with the policies of the Oregon City School Board

● Initiates and directs development of school policies for approval by the CAIS Board, delegating such responsibility to associates and subordinates as deemed desirable;

● Knowledgeable in research-based practices around professional development, professional learning communities, grading, assessment, and analyzing data

● Understanding of Oregon’s Common Core State Standards, graduation requirements, IDEA, and ESL programs

● Oversees all aspects of CTE programs and services

● Be able to supervise instructional performance through effective observation and evaluation techniques

● Must provide supervision and leadership for the instructional program and provide general supervision of student discipline, safety procedures and student government

● Implement and account for the building's budgets, supervise maintenance and operations of the building and control of equipment

● Values and supports all students

● Ability to work in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, and community

● Develop and maintain relationships with regional industry representatives and workforce development organizations

● Develop and maintain industry supported school foundation

● Serves as a member of the Oregon City School District administrative team

GRADE LEVEL:

8 – 12 High School

SALARY RANGE:

$92,198 - $106,698
