Community School Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. BA degree and related work in community education.
2. Work experience in one or more of the following: teaching, recreation leadership, community development, community education, adult education, social work, etc.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Community Education Director
SUPERVISES:
As assigned
JOB GOAL:
To develop appropriate service events and programs within the designated school. Work cooperatively with the Community Education Director to provide training and assistance to staff.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinate all activities related to the area-wide Community School program with the District Community Education Director.
2. Coordinate all activities related to local programs with other Community School staff and building principals.
3. Establish rapport with lay leaders in the designated attendance area.
4. Maintain complete and accurate records as to attendance, staff, and scheduling of the local and area-wide Community School program.
5. Be responsible for organizing and conducting services in designated secondary programming sites.
6. Provide resources, training, and assistance to the other designated staff.
7. Assist in program evaluation for the purpose of program improvement.
8. Assist the Community Education Director in designing and carrying out inservice and staff development training.
9. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Eleven-month year, eight hours per day, scheduled as required. Salary to be determined by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance on this job will be evaluated annually by the Community Education Director in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation.
