Community Schools Secretary
qualifications:
1. Knowledge of modern office methods, practices and procedures, business English, spelling and arithmetic.
2. Ability to perform clerical work with speed and accuracy.
3. Ability to type at a rate of 50 wpm from clear, legible copy.
4. Ability to learn operation of word processing/data entry.
5. Ability to make arithmetical calculations.
6. Ability to learn to interpret and apply school laws, policies, rules and regulations.
7. Ability to spell correctly and use good English.
8. Ability to maintain effective relationships with participants, staff members and the general public.
9. Ability to administer first aid.
10. Ability to respect confidential information and prepare reports.
11. Ability to assume responsibility for other related duties as directed by supervisor.

job goal:
To serve as secretary to the Community Education Director and the Community School coordinators, working as a liaison person with classified and certified staff, principals, and administration office personnel.
performance responsibilities:
1. Acts as secretary to the Community Education Director and Community School coordinators.
2. Keeps financial, statistical, inventory, and other related records.
3. Serves as a registrar, receptionist, answers telephone calls, arranges for interviews and delivers messages.
4. Operates all office equipment used in the Community Schools office, including the IBM computer and Recware program.
5. Monitors building rent.
6. Assumes responsibility for all Community Schools registration.
7. Types requisitions and processes bills for payment; orders office supplies.
8. Types schedules, bulletins, calendars, agendas, etc., for Community Education Director and Community Schools coordinators.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
terms of employment:
As assigned. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Community Education Director or his designee in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
