Counseling Secretary II
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have a high diploma or equivalent.
2. Must have knowledge of office procedures, business English, and basic mathematics.
3. Must be able to type rapidly and accurately.
4. Working knowledge or experience with computers preferred.
5. Must have the ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff and respect confidential information.
6. Must have the ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
7. Experience preferred but not required.
8. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS TO:
Building principal and/or counseling department chair.
SUPERVISES:
This position does not normally carry with it the super-vision of other personnel. Employee may be asked to supervise student assistants.
JOB GOAL:
Under the direct supervision of a certified counselor, performs varied clerical responsibilities. Communications with students, staff, and the public require the use of tact and discretion.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs general clerical responsibilities, including receptionist duties, typing and correspondence, printing and copying, sorting and filing, etc.
2. Performs computer data entry.
3. Supervises student aides.
4. Performs other tasks as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the building principal and the counseling department chair in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
