District Media Assistant
position description:
Under the direct supervision of the District Media Specialist, the District Media Assistant performs:
1. One-to-one or small group assistance.
2. Library/media clerical work.
3. Other activities as assigned in the library/media center.
special requirements:
(Certification, training, specialty skills or previous experience)
1. Must have completed two (2) years post high school and earned an Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
2. Must have strong secretarial, computer and student-supervision skills.
3. Ability to word process rapidly and accurately and be able/willing to operate a variety of instructional media equipment.
4. Experience with library circulation and automated library system preferred.
5. Ability to maintain clerical records and file alphabetically.
6. Familiarity and enjoyment of children's books.
7. Ability to assist teachers with student activities relating to the library.
8. Promote and assist in use and maintenance of equipment and library-related technology.
9. Experience working with students preferred but not required.
10. Must have ability to work harmoniously with teachers, students, and other staff.
11. Must have ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
12. Must be comfortable reading aloud to groups of children, if asked.
13. Must demonstrate excellent attendance and punctuality.
This position will work at Oregon City High School while supporting the entire District.
