OCHS Campus Supervisor


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Ability to make some independent judgements with prescribed policies and procedures.

3. Ability to work independently, adapt to a wide variety of assignments, and solve problems.

4. Ability to communicate with appropriate student age groups requiring the use of both empathetic, restorative and disciplinarian approaches.

5. Must have the ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.

6. Ability and desire to work on a team.

7. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, other staff, parents and students.

8. Must have or obtain DPSST certification.

Building Principal and/or Designee.

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

To be a resource for our students and provide a safe and secure environment on the high school campus during the school day.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Supervises the buildings and campus throughout the school day; patrolling hallways, restrooms, and campus grounds (including school parking lots).

2. Monitors campus for students and visitors, including student tardiness, student truancies, student hall passes, visitor passes, and unauthorized persons on campus.

3. Reports and responds to students who are off campus or in unauthorized areas of campus.

4. Responds to situations on school grounds such as medical needs, trouble areas, student behavior issues, etc.

5. Responds to and investigates student management situations (investigations include conflict management, questioning, search & seizure, etc.).

6. Facilitates proactive conflict resolution, deescalating strategies, and problem-solving strategies.

7. Maintains appropriate documentation and proactively communicates with staff, students, and families.

8. Supports/supervises detention, in-school suspension, and Saturday School as appropriate.

9. Provides students with a positive adult mentor while continuing to hold them accountable.

10. Supports office personnel with deliveries, messages, and other school needs.

11. Performs other duties relative to the safety of the high school as assigned by the administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the principal in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
