OCHS College and Career Outreach Coordinator


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field; Experience working in career advisement/counseling, preferably at the high school level.

4. Demonstrated ability to work and cultivate relationships with diverse constituencies, including principals, teachers, school staff, and community.

8. Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

10. Computer skills necessary to write reports and assist students with on-line course work and career research.

11. Ability to use or learn to use Naviance.

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

Work with school counselors and administration in planning and implementing the district guidance program. Maintains primary responsibility for the college and career development; Responsibilities include planning, developing, and implementing a comprehensive high school college and career development program at Oregon City High School. This position will also support related efforts the Clackamas Academy of Industrial Sciences and Oregon City Service Learning Academy. This position reports to Oregon City High School administration.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Outreach to local resources- businesses, organizations, networks- to build new connections and opportunities for students.

2. Schedules and hosts career representatives, and arranges presentations to students.

3. Coordinates and schedules career activities.

4. Publicizes local job and internship opportunities.

5. Develops, coordinates and sustains local internship opportunities; supports administration of vocational assessments (ASVAB, etc) and national college readiness exams (PSAT, SAT, ACT, etc), and provides direction in the use of the assessment results.

6. Supports students’ 6 year plan and profile for Career and college readiness.

7. Coordinates Work Experience credit for students.

8. Meets with students for career and college advising.

9. Provides students and parents with career and college information, and guides students regarding goals after high school, including the availability of financial aid, apprenticeship programs, scholarships and career selection processes.

10. Boosts schoolwide career (with our without college) awareness.

11. Works with partner institutions of higher education to ensure student access to college/career pathway programs.

12. Collaborates and coordinates activities and programs with other district high school leaders.

13. Reports directly to OCHS administration and with the district office designee for community connection.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

191 days, eight hours per day, scheduled as required. Salary to be determined by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the pro-visions of the Board's policy on evaluation.
