TOSA Jackson Prep Teacher on Special Assignment


QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Oregon teaching license with a minimum of five (5) years successful high school teaching experience.

2. Strong, collaborative leadership skills.

3. Innovative, team player interested in expanding opportunities for all students.

4. Strong communication skills with students, staff and parents.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Special Services

SUPERVISES:

None

JOB GOAL:

The TOSA will develop, implement and maintain school-wide academic and behavior supports and supervise students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Collaborate with building administrators and Special Services to support students attending Jackson Prep alternative program.

2. Work with building administrators, special services placement coordinator, case managers and /or school counselors to ensure that all district and federal policies are followed for placement at Jackson.

3. Work with the building administrative team on innovations to improve attendance, reduce truancy, and improve student behavior.

4. Work with Jackson Prep staff to implement Positive Behavior Interventions Systems (PBIS).

5. Work with team to improve transitions between Jackson Prep and neighborhood school, in the areas of attendance, behavior and academics.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

As agreed. Salary to be established by the labor agreement and ratified by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation.
